Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), ISRO is a premier organization in training and education on applications of remote sensing and GIS in natural resource monitoring and management. The forestry and Ecology Division has been established in 1966 with the aim of providing training on the utility of aerial photography for forest resource inventory and monitoring.
